Scooby’s Storyscooby new owner

Scooby was found by a volunteer eating out of a dumpster in a Guilford parking lot on March 1, 2007. When he arrived at the shelter, he was pretty thin (for Scooby), and wasn't thrilled to be around so many other cats. He usually stayed in one spot, and showed little interest in playing. Understandably, Scooby was never on any potential adopter's “first pick list.”

One happy day in July, 2008, Scooby finally found his “forever” home, and we were so excited to receive this picture and letter from his new family.

Hello Forgotten Felines!

My name is Danielle and about 3 months ago we adopted Scooby (a very large and loveable lump from your shelter). I wanted to drop you a note and let you know how great our little tubby Scooby is doing. He was only timid with us for about the first 4 hours in our home and by the first evening of his adoption, he was sleeping on my husband Mark’s stomach. Since then he has continued to make us laugh. He loves to sleep with us, always greets us at the door with a meow, and has actually dropped a little bit of weight. (It must be the stairs!) He’s become incredibly playful (his favorite is chasing the yarn as I knit). I just wanted to make sure I emailed your entire staff to thank you for taking such good care of Scooby—he is truly a wonderful kitty.

Thank you again,
Danielle
